Beschriftung: „M 1122 Emil Busch A.G. Rathenow , Broad Arrow. “ Unten drehbarer Messingmesskreis mit deutscher Marine- Skalierung 360°. Mit einer bisher nicht nochmal gesehener Bodenplatte aus Messing zur Aufnahme des Messkreises mit Schwanenhals und D.F. 12,20 x 80. Diese beschriftet und nummerngleich: “ vorn 11222 Broad Arrow „. Mit beiden Messing-Objektivschutzkappen samt Lederriemchen. Zustand der Optik: innen voll intakt, aussen : 1 Objektiv voll in Ordnung, die andere Objektivlinse am Rand max. 10% abgeplatzt, was ich beim Durschauen nicht so gut wie nicht bemerkbar macht. alle 4 Okulare voll intakt. Noch nicht justiert, mechanisch intakt. Zusammengehöriges, sehr seltenes Set weit über 100 Jahre alt: Alles in zugehöriger, verzahnter Holzkiste BHT 57 x 23 x 26 cm. Das ganze Set ist offensichtlich nach dem 1. Wk. nach England gelangt, wurde dort von einem optischen Betreib aufgearbeitet , mit grauem englischen Marine-Militärlack lackiert und mit dem englischen Broad Arrow für britisches Militäreigentum versehen = im 1.Wk deutsches Marinesglas, im 2.Wk. Marineglas der Royal Navy. Fold-out gooseneck with large spigot / tripod sleeve. German naval binoculars from WWI. Requisitioned by the British in WWII as official military binoculars for the Royal Navy. Inscription: „M 1122 Emil Busch A.G. Rathenow, Broad Arrow.“ Rotating brass measuring circle at the bottom with German naval scaling 360°. With a previously unseen brass base plate for holding the measuring circle with gooseneck and D.F. 12.20 x 80. These are labeled and numbered: „front 11222 Broad Arrow.“ With both brass lens caps and leather straps.
Condition of the optics: inside completely intact, outside: 1 objective lens completely fine, one has a max. 10% chip on the edge, which I couldn’t really notice or just hardly notice when looking through it. All 4 eyepieces completely intact. Not yet collimated, mechanically intact. A very rare set that belongs together, well over 100 years old. Everything in the matching wooden box, W x H x D 57 x 23 x 26 cm. The whole set obviously came to England after the First World War, where it was refurbished by an optical company, painted with grey English naval military varnish and marked with the English Broad Arrow for British military property = German naval glass in the First World War; Royal Navy naval glass in the Second World War.
