1.Wk. bis 2.Wk. Kompassäule mit Kompass der Royal Navy, großer Kompassstand mit innliegendem Kompass,. Der Kompass hat eine 360° Rose und ist noch komplett mit Flüssigkeit gefüllt und funktionstüchtig. Riesiger Kompass-Stand mit Holzverkleidung, 2 sehr schweren Ausgleichskugeln aus Vollmetall, großer Messinghaube, an versch. Stellen zu öffnen, mit langem Seekarten- Behälter, mit Laterne, mit Öffnungstürchen im unteren Säulenbereich und mit Schiffsneigungsmesser. Der Neigungsmesser aus Messing ist u.a. beschriftet: “ Sole makers, Kelvin Bottomley @ Maird Ltd., Glasgow, London, Basingstoke ….“ Die Libelle im Neigungsmesser ist klein und alles funktioniert. Beschriftung auf Kompassrose u.a. “ Kelvin Hughes Ltd. , made in Great Britain Serial. No. 2768 „, Selbstabholung. Die Kugeln samt Halterung, die Messinghaube und der Kompass lassen sich zum Transport leicht abnehmen, so dass der Kompass in jedem Auto Platz findet. Zustand: für seine ca. 100 Jahre hervorragend. Offensichtlich wurde der Komapss voll-restauriert und aufgebaut. Top Zustand und ein sehr dekorativer Blickfänger. Diese Biester wurden im 1. Wk. auf Schiffen eingesetzt und bis Ende des 2. Wk. genutzt.
WWI – WWII compass column with a Royal Navy compass; large compass stand with an internal compass. The compass features a 360° rose and is still fully filled with liquid and in working order. Huge compass stand with wooden paneling, 2 very heavy solid-metal balancing balls, large brass dome that opens in various places, with a long chart holder, a lantern, a small access door in the lower part of the column, and a ship’s inclinometer. The brass inclinometer is inscribed, among other things: “Sole makers, Kelvin Bottomley @ Maird Ltd., Glasgow, London, Basingstoke….” The bubble level in the inclinometer is small and everything works. Inscription on the compass rose, among other things: “Kelvin Hughes Ltd., made in Great Britain, Serial No. 2768,” pickup only. The balls and their mount, the brass dome, and the compass can be easily removed for transport, so the compass fits in any car. Condition: excellent for its approx. 100 years. The compass has obviously been fully restored and reassembled. Top condition and a very decorative eye-catcher. Use during WWI and WWII.
